Rylie's new do

Rylie has been wanting to get her hair cut ever since I cut mine off in May. Then she has had 2 friends cut their hair and fuel the fires. Finally, her cousin whom she adores came to Utah with a cute short hair do. My hold up was that she has always wanted her hair long (like a princess) but I finally relented and took her to a kids salon and had it cut. When they were done they cut almost 3" off the back and about 2 1/2 off the front. Not a huge amount for some people, but this will take FOREVER to grow back. She loved it though, and she loved the salon.
the final product :) You can't really tell but they sprayed it with glitter spray.

Rylie's Birthday

June is a very crazy month with my birthday, Fathers Day, Nate's birthday, our anniversary and Rylies birthday all in 2 weeks. We are almost bored once all the birthdays are over and we aren't partying every other day. But we love it, it is so much fun.

Rylie turned 4 this year and I am so sad with how fast she is growing up. She is such a joy to have around and I look forward to the time we can have "genuine" girls time.

Here she is on the morning of her birthday, bright and early I might add. She has been doing pretty good job sleeping in, but not today (which who can blame her)

She got Polly pockets from her Grandma Gillespie and she loves these things. She spent 2 hours playing with them when there was a break.

Charlotte and Tiona from Princess and the Frog, a favorite movie of hers.

What more can I say about this picture but--CUTE!!!

Rylie wanted so bad to have a birthday party. I am not good at the party thing and was a little hesitant, but she was so persistent. These are the little friends she invited over, notice the only boy--what a good sport but he is such a cutie and she really wanted him there.

Lip gloss--one of her very favorite things.

Make-up--she so does not need this, but it was pay back from one of my friends.
The butterfly cake she picked out. I did my best but making cakes is not one of my specialties.

And again, that cute little boy.

Nate is 9!

Nate is a pretty simplistic kid, he knows what he wants and that is all he wants, PERIOD! He may only ask for one thing (big or small) and then you get nothing else from him.
He asked for us to hide all his presents and that is what we did. He really enjoyed finding them.

The one and only thing he asked for his birthday was a DSi, and he got it. He was so thrilled to get this, and played it every minute of down time he could find.

Nate is my otter pop MANIAC! He loves the things and we were going through a box a week and it was frustrating me. Not to mention the wrappers that we ever so gentle (I am sure) placed all over the yard and under our tramp. So I decided to get him his own box of otter pops for his birthday to do whatever he wanted with. It is amazing when it is not just mom buying them for everyone how much slower he goes through them.
My birthday boy!

Again this year he chose a pan of peanut butter bars over a cake of any kind. He loves them, and was excited to have a whole sheet of them.

Happy Birthday Me :)

This is usually how Drew likes to celebrate things--What a party animal, ay! No really, he is so kind and every year takes the day off to celebrate my birthday and it means so much to me.

Lil' Miss

Most days I feel so blessed to have my little girl, and even more blessed for the personality she has. She really is pretty laid back, doesn't get too emotional over things and doesn't scream and throw fits (like most girls). Then there are those rare occasions where she is soo fun, watch out! She was a little ornery one particular Sunday morning as we were getting ready for church and she wanted something and was told no, and she took the pen that was in her hand and went to town on the couch. Wow! she got in just a titchy bit of trouble, but she was happy to clean it all up. Her method was a wet wipe and it all came off. Now let me clarify, that her scribble on the couch had meaning--she at least wrote her name :)

Grumpy Boys

Sometimes Family Night is soo enjoyable that we decide to take pictures to remind us just how happy life can be. We were trying to do things and the boys were just being soo catty towards each other that we decided to make them stand up and sing a song together WITH arms around each other. They may have thought this as lame, but they tried real hard not to smile. Then we told them that we were going to blog and thus the picture of them on the couch. Happy days!

Baseball

This year Nate is the only one playing baseball, but he loves it. We moved him up to the league where they get to start pitching and it was a good move. He is on the Marlins team and he has a fabulous coach.

The first game we went to they were in outfield the first inning and look who's on the pitching mound? The coach asked Nate if he would do it and he said he didn't want to do it but he would give it a try. He did soo good, especially since he has never pitched a ball... EVER! He got the game ball that night for being such a good sport and doing such a good job. He has pitched at least one inning every game, he enjoys it but isn't quite skilled in it. He is getting better every time and we love watching him play.

Planting

After many houses and years of wanting to complete a yard of a house. . . we are finally moving in the right direction. We had someone come out and design our whole yard and loved what she did and decided to start on at least the front yard. The boys chipped in to help dig all the holes, even though it kept raining on us. We were able to get most of the front yard done but I just realized we took no final picture, but you get the idea of what the front will look like.
