We're Back!

I know that I have not posted in a long time, but I did today and I posted a lot. So check it out, leave comments and hopefully I will do a better job through out the holidays.

What a Movie!!

I went to Twilight today and it was so great. I didn't think I would be able to go, but then a friend came up from Lehi, and we bit the bullet and went. It was great! I was not too impressed with who they chose for the Cullin family as far as actors, but by the time the end of the movie came, Edward had grown on me. I loved this movie and it will become a part of my movie collection as soon as it comes out.

Lowes Craft Day!!

It was Lowe's Craft day, though I am not sure Drew would appreciate me saying it was a craft. We took the kids and they had so much fun putting together their football goal.

Even Rylie joined in on the fun and did her own too. She loved it, all three kids really enjoyed it. If you have never taken your kids I highly recommend it. The kids each get their own kit, an apron, and goggles. At the end when they have completed their project they get a certificate and a badge that you can sew onto the apron. It is really quite the get up and it is all free. Thanks Lowe's.

Halloween

Halloween was a blast this year, I let the kids just be what they wanted to be and it made it so much easier. Derrek was Indiana Jones, Nathan was a motorcycle man, and Rylie was a flower fairy. Thanks to Uncle Austin, Nathan was able to get real motorcycle stuff, though the pants were too big, everything was too big, he had lots of fun dressing up.

Rylie was a flower fairy, an idea I got from a magazine, but the outfit didn't quite come together like I had envisioned. But she loved it and was so excited to dress up in it. As you can tell she has no problem posing in front of the camera. She had so much fun going door-to-door, she would come back from each door with the biggest smile saying, "that lady gave me candy." She just couldn't believe that you could knock on a door, someone would answer it and just hand you candy. She thought that was great.

Crazy Hair Day!

Today was crazy hair day at Derrek's school and he thought up his own thing. He was thinking about dressing up like Two-Face for Halloween so this is where the idea originated from. He thought it was cool, and it got lots of comments from it.

Wind Caves

Today we took the kids on a hike to see the wind caves. It started out pretty cool, but warmed up fast as we hiked up and up. It is way cool hike, awesome scenery and colors. It is also a good workout, it is not too hard, but it keeps your blood pumping. Rylie rode the backpack most of the way but wanted to walk so bad, so when we got near the bottom and Drew felt it was safe he succumbed to her wants and let her walk. It lasted about 2 seconds and she wanted us to carry her, so Drew put her on his shoulders instead of the backpack again.

Here we stopped for lunch. It was all in the shade and it was WINDY!!! We were a little chilly here but it is a really cool cut out in the side of the mountain.

Here are the actual wind caves. It is really neat to see these, but the drops on all sides are not so neat. Drew barely had the patience to let the boys sit on that wall for a picture. Behind them was quite the drop. They really enjoyed seeing them though and it was so worth the hike.

Derrek's Special Day

Derrek was the star of the week for his birthday at school. So we got to make a poster all about him and go to his class and kind of "show" him off. He built this star wars ship (that he got as a present) and that is one of the items he took in with him. Rylie couldn't just sit on the sidelines either she just had to be in the spotlight as well so we had to add a picture of her too. I think it is great that teachers are willing to single out children one at a time and let them feel special all week long. I think this was one of Derrek's best weeks at school.
