Derrek is playing flag football this year and is completely loving it. He played last year but it just didn't seem like his heart was in it. Things are different for him, thanks to a change in attitude and a great coach he is really excelling in the sport. His team name is the Titans and as you can see he is number 4. He picked this shirt, though it is too small, because his favorite football player is Brett Farve, who is also number 4.
Most of the games he plays quarter back and thinks he is hot stuff. It is funny to me how all quarter backs have such huge heads, but that is okay because he is just a kid and he loves playing the position and he is getting quite good. Here he is getting the ball and running for his first touch down. Times like this really make him feel good about himself and he goes out there and gives 110% and then some.
He is good at blocking and he is really good at getting the flags. I swear he just stares at the quarter back and charges as soon as he can. He gets the flag quite often and if he doesn't he keeps blocking and going at it. I am glad he loves it this year.

sounds like the boys are doing great. It is always fun to see it when they love what they are doing (we haven't seen a lot of that in Josh, although he does like tennis because he can't get hurt in that sport).
